PrEP Demand Generation Package for AGYW in Nigeria
Materials Updated June 2023
This suite of PrEP demand generation resources for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) was originally developed with the support of PEPFAR through USAID’s Collaboration for HIV Prevention Options to Control the Epidemic (CHOICE) initiative, a collaboration between the EpiC and RISE projects. Many of the materials were subsequently expanded and refined through the Maximizing Options to Advance Informed Choice for HIV Prevention (MOSAIC) project. These materials were co-designed with young people and healthcare providers to help Ministries of Health, program managers, trainers, healthcare providers, and HIV-prevention advocates to create demand for PrEP among AGYW. These materials were tested and iterated in Nigeria, and adaptation to local context is encouraged.
The package includes a series of resources and printable prototypes, including adaptable client-oriented PrEP demand generation materials (e.g., posters, pamphlets, social media posts, etc.), along with several provider-oriented tools, including empathy building training materials, counselling tools, community, and provider dialogue guide, and an infographic addressing common concerns providers may have about PrEP. The Guide: How to Use Gen-N materials slide deck summarizes how each of the materials can be used.
